These are my newest pieces along with some that I am working on. Happy Holidays!
The Spirit of the American Warrior -- 18 x 14, mixed media. I may add or take away some elements in this piece, we'll see. Right now I want to let it marinate and look at it for a few days before I decide. In the meantime, I thought I'd go ahead and put it up for viewing. I only wish I could put the actual piece up here and not a photograph. There is a lot lost in the photo, like the texture material used in the dragon's body, the detail in the eyes, the actual colors in the ground beneath the tank and so on. Notice the swords in the skyline behind the Abrams... those are an actual landmark over the streets enterting Baghdad. I started this piece before I left El Paso, glad to have it near complete. I'm dedicating this painting to my brother, Bryan, who is now in Iraq for the second time and is a former tank commander.
Coffee -- 9 x 14 acrylic on canvas. Playing with a bit of abstraction and surreality here.
Horses running through snow. Drawn on cold press water color paper, I enjoyed the texture that gave the piece. 18" x 24" without frame, unavailable.
Air Defense Artillery cross - canons and missile with an Asian dragon for the chemical corps. This was a good-bye gift from myself to a good friend and colleague of mine who also is in Air Defense and married to a soldier whose occupation is in the chemical protection field. Best wishes to them both! 11" x 14," colored pencil.
